What I wouldn't give to be in New York this weekend! StyleCaster and Topshop are doin' it up beach party style in Montauk, live music and all. I never thought I'd say this, but I'm mildly disappointed that I'm in Florida right now... forgotten photos

I was just looking through my photo folders and I came across these! They were originally part of an article I did on thrifting back in February for StyleCaster. I guess I forgot to re-post them here — then again, that was back during my too-busy-to-blog phase. But never fear, I've found the perfect solution! I just cut out the whole sleeping at night thing and run on naps, thus I can blog as I am now, at 6.30 am.

best friends 4-ever

Earlier today I was writing up a shopping post for StyleCaster — today was my last day :( so sad — of  a bunch of super cute friendship bracelets. This summer I plan to have my wrists thoroughly layered with all these colorful, woven wonders. There was one jewelry designer that I absolutely died and went to heaven for though. Frieda & Nellie. They take vintage rhinestone bracelets and necklaces and splice in bright sections of friendship bracelets. It's so creative! I might have to try a DIY session for these and see if I can't whip up something similar. man repeller makeover

Earlier this week, my editor, Kerry, and I went down to Kirna Zabete in SoHo for the morning to shoot a little makeover for StyleCaster with none other than one of my favorite fashion bloggers, Leandra Medine, aka The Man Repeller. It was so much fun to browse around and play dress up in all the newest trends and clothes that I can in no way afford. Leandra changed clothes about as many times as I did and ended up buying this fabulous lime Proenza Schouler slip dress. Needless to say, I was très jaloux. 

The pictures from the makeover, taken by StyleCaster favorite Joseph D'Arco, will be on the site soon. I'll re-post them here afterwards but until then, here's a little snapshot Kerry took on her phone. I'm excited to see how the real pictures turned out!

So This is the New Year... And I Don't Feel Any Different

I have obviously taken quite the hiatus from my beloved blog. I now work at StyleCaster doing pretty much the same thing! Now that the holidays are past and a routine will begin to settle in (I hope...), I'm resolving to keep this baby of mine updated more regularly! I will also post links to the things I write for StyleCaster. Hold me to this, y'all! You know my focus can be a little, uh, scattered....
